Reason to create blog ? or  a  Website

Should you create a Blog of your own !!!

Well , If I can  put this question as, Why do we create our House ? 

Most common answer will be…..

BASIC  Reason “ To have physical place which  helps us safeguard our belongings and family  from weather and wild animals danger “.

In addition to the basic reason above,

SOCIAL reason “ House  provides us an Identity and location ( ADDRESS ) of our existence “

PERSONAL reason - “ House  provides us a place to Learn, Create, Develop and Grow “.   

All the above reasons put together we call it a HOME in  PHYSICAL WORLD.

We are witnessing a parallel digital world which is rapidly expanding.  This can not be overlooked, this explosive growth is due to fast developing technological advances, thus creating a VIRTUAL WORLD.

Whoever is willing to have their existence in this virtual world , would surely need a home , to register their existence. Here comes the  necessity of owning an address for all the reasons for owning a house as mentioned above. This can be done by way of creating your own Blog  or Website, thus is the reason to create blog or website.

Now, What could we achieve  with this Blog or website ?

>  You can display your creativity, which could be  anything like Cooking skills, Art skills, Subject Knowledge Sharing  etc.

>  It helps you develop  writing skills.

>  Helps you develop a platform to project you as an expert in your area of interest. May be can help you make a published book author !!

>  Helps you monetize your efforts.

>  Can create  Communities with like mind/ Interest  people.

>  Can help  motivate people by setting your  example.

Find Topic of Interest

Search Keywords to find your topic of  interest   

a) How much you love that topic

b) Are you ready to be expert in that topic.

c) Is there audience interested in your topic

Identify  the area of interest which gives you a drive to Write, Discuss or Show. This is crucial as it will  continuously motivates  you with the drive and ideas  to  update your blog with your new posts.

Lastly, you should have willingness to dive deeper  into your  topic of interest,  so that it widens your knowledge and helps you to add values  to your newer posts, as you become expert in your area of interest.

Example - Search for “ Healthy food Recipes” in google search

 

 

On analysing the Search result screen, two major points to note

1.  How Many Searches were there for search word/Phrase

2. Does it show any Sponsored/Paid AD  on top of results

The More number of searches means, there are higher  number  of  users who are  searching on this topic.    The Paid/Sponsored advertisements on top of results  means that companies are paying for their advertisements  because they are able to make money.

In summary the Key word searches with High volume and Paid Ads are very likely to get you blog to reach high number of audience.

We can search  using ADWORDS  for free.   HOW ?  Lets explore

With your any Gmail ID account you can sign in.

NOTE : Do not click on “Continue”  as shown below, if clicked it will create a campaign which require payment.  In such case  you need  to use alternate Gmail ID.

Below screen appears ; Enter required details and “save and Continue”  to create account.

After you have created your Adword account ,  carfully read opened screen, and ensure you do not click to create campaign, as Google continuously  keeps on updating their system.

In traditional business,  growth  is a prime objective of Marketing  and Management. There are broadly two strategies  of doing it,

FIRSTLY growth  done Naturally , which is the growth driven with the internal  strengths of the business and its resources.  Optimum use of the business strengths like robust management, Uniqueness of Products  and  Resources, can drive this natural growth, which is often termed as ORGANIC Growth.

SECONDLY ,  growth done through  secondary / external  means,  like mergers or acquisitions, and often termed as INORGANIC Growth.

How to create website ;

             1. Suggestions  for choosing good domain name

             2.  Steps to get the domain name

             3. Hosting the domain

Suggestions

1. Depending on the topic of Interest we can choose a domain name which is relevant to our topic, by using “namecheap” or “godaddy”.

2. Try keeping the domain name short, which is easy to remember.

3. It should be preferably without any “-” or “.” or any symbol/ numbers.

4. Preferable suffix “ .com”, as it is most popular.

5. One additional effort you have to do - Little more brain exercise to select some more alternatives  for domain name, because it is possible that our first preferred name is already taken up  by somebody else.

 I  found Godaddy  provides  suggestion on alternates of possible combination with synonyms or words , similar to your initially  searched domain name, if it is already taken.

In my opinion, domain registration should be done separately, instead of going with free registration at Hosting site, As it is cheaper in long run.

1. Your domain Name.

2. Website Hosting Site.

As suggested in earlier Post, If you are looking at Long term Use for your Website, I feel Register Domain separately with registrar of domain. Alternatively, you may have a possibility to  register your Domain FREE OF COST on the Hosting site as well , but the Registration will be  Free for one year thereafter  Annual Fee applies, which could be around USD 12-16 / year.

1) Select the Plan :

Depending your Planning to use your website, select plan accordingly.

Very basic plan offered at Minimum cost, but it is with limitations,

Medium level Plan, offers added advantages, like security certificate, free space, emails advantage. More than one website can be hosted on the hosting server at the same purchase cost.  Premium Plan generally for Big Usage and big Business requirements.

2)  Tenure Of Hosting :

1 Year is the minimum tenure for hosting which one needs to pay. But considering the efforts and running website, we must give consideration to buying hosting tenure at least  for 2-3 years, depending  on  the cost  benefit analysis.
